Big Congratulations to Seasalt Director Neil Chadwick and Sophie Treloar, fashion and textile designer, who tied the knot on 1st September 2007.

The beginning...
They met about business. It was 2004 and Sophie was selling her hand printed silk scarves throughout the West Country. Neil saw the potential in Sophie's designs - he took on the scarves and invited Sophie to join the team working on the launch of Seasalt's own brand of organic cotton clothing. Over the course of the year, Neil, Sue Barneby and Sophie developed the brand and before long Neil and Sophie were finding more in common than textiles...

In the early days, waking up at 4am to discuss garment samples was not unusual. They work well that way, sharing a passion for the brand that has grown in leaps since its launch in 2005.

The Engagement...
In 2006, whilst on an OSKA buying trip in Munich, Neil popped the question. It was in a beer garden on the night of The World Cup final! The dancing on the tables that followed was a pretty sure sign that Sophie's answer was yes. Organising the wedding themselves, dress fittings and band booking around the daily company goings on was par for the course.

The Wedding...
The day dawned bright with the few clouds in the bay threatening nothing more than occasional shade. The church at Perran-ar-worthal was decked with the most beautiful flowers, arranged by Sophie's mum. Old fashioned white roses were the theme of the day along with garden flowers from friend's and families' gardens.

Over 140 guests packed into the pews to celebrate with the bride and groom. Sophie's dress, made from pieces of antique lace and old wax flowers, was stunning; beautifully detailed and utterly unique, she was the perfect bride. Sophie designed the dress and it was made for her by costume-maker Tracey Dawn-Stevens. Given away by her father, it proved an emotional moment for many, especially when gospel singer Lee Adewole lifted the church with her wonderful voice.

With yet more guests arriving for the reception, the atmosphere for the day continued in high spirits. Everyone headed to The Three Mackerel, the venue for the rest of the celebrations. Overlooking Swanpool beach, the clifftop restaurant provided a wonderful setting. Fabulous food, buckets of champagne, towers of hazelnut meringues, laughter, dancing and fireworks rounded off what was a memorable and special day for us all at Seasalt.
